Korea Tour 2006

Home

In February 2006, I was invited to travel to South Korea with Grandmaster Moo Yong Yun.

This was by no means a tourist trip although we did go to a few "touristy" places to help absorb some of the Korean culture. The main focus of this trip was training for martial arts and learning how to apply some of these principles to daily life. Our training was based around both Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido (which incorporates more joint locks and throws).

Going into this trip I was a little unsure about what to expect. I was told to "expect the unexpected" which always kept us up on our toes. In addition, I was a little leery about the seafood because, well, I pretty much don't care for it. However, being opened minded to new foods, I found out, neither the crab or squid soup killed me, so this is good!

Up front, we were told to be capable of running 4 miles because every morning this would be part of our daily workout. And every morning would start at about 4:30am (at least in our room). All in all, I was pretty excited about going but a little nervous about what was in store. After it was all said and done, the trip went too fast and was an awesome experience all around and would love to go back again!!

Anyway's, on the left hand side you'll see my "Time Machine" which you can read about some of the things we did on the selected day. Also I have some pictures and video clips and other resources to help give you an idea of where we were, what we did and experiences we had. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to bring me back there! ;-)
